Pipe Welding Process
The
LoneStar automatic
welding system is designed for onshore and offshore
pipeline construction. The system is based on an orbital
welding principle.
The
LoneStar automatic
welding system is part of the process involved in
completing a qualified weld. The process has three main
components.
1.
The first part involves Dyna Torque's pipe facing
equipment producing the required compound narrow
bevel at the end of each pipe. Dyna Torque's pipe facing
machines cover a wide range of pipe diameters from 6" to
44" providing precise and consistent bevels. Precise and
consistent bevels are essential to the automatic welding
process. Dyna Torque's pipe facing machines are
self-contained, mobile, and easy to set-up.

2.
The second part
involves internal line-up clamps that allow perfect
alignment of the two joints of pipes in preparation for
the automatic welding process.

3.
The third part involves the
LoneStar automated welding
system performing a welding joint of
two pipes.
The
LoneStar
automatic welding system
is capable of welding pipe sizes ranging from 4" to over
60" in diameter with wall thickness in excess of 2
inches.
